Class M Planets is Adam Goldman whom also moonlights as
singer of Portland, Oregon’s thebrotheregg. As Class M Planets, Adam zips around the universe as a solo
performer, a vocalist and guitar player.
This ain’t no singer-songwriter stuff though. Adam doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve nor is he
concerned with expressing his “feelings”.
Class M Planets transforms raw energy from the environment into smart
and engaging songs. This is true.
Adam
produces a great deal of songs in his treefort studio, whatever the situation
calls for. Like many, he’s into
beauty… sure. “Let’s make some
beauty,” he might say on any given day.
As long as it’s honest.
He’s told people in the past that he’s trying to send out a beacon and
anyone who catches the signal can maybe signal back if they like. Musical notes are sometimes distress calls or SETI
watching the skies, or searches for Bigfoot.
For
the purposes of journalism, what is Class M Planets? Is it folk rock, anti-folk, freak folk, out-pop, Apocalyptic
folk? What the hell is it? What little truth lasso can we swing
around its neck? We suck at
figuring out what stuff is. We’re
good at putting the stuff out there and letting the world decide. Totally blotto, man.
